Hello there! My name is Mitchell Cable, and I have been interested in science for as long as I can remember. However, it wasn't until the first time I saw the night sky that my fascination with the universe really took hold of me. That experience was truly life-changing. For many years, I shared my passion for science with students as a high school Chemistry and Physics teacher. One day, at a science conference in Milwaukee, I had the pleasure of meeting Michelle Thaller. Michelle was a research astronomer and the public outreach lead for the Spitzer Space Telescope. She was extraordinarily kind to me and set aside time to answer all my questions. Her passion for astronomy and teaching inspired me to develop an Astronomy course, which I taught for several years.
While developing the curriculum for my Astronomy course, I became interested in astrophotography. I was amazed by the beauty of the night sky and spent a lot of time learning the hobby. This newfound passion led me to purchase a travel trailer after I retired so that I could spend as much time as possible searching for dark sky locations in the western United States.
Now, I spend my time traveling and taking photographs of the night sky. I developed my website as a way to connect with people I meet during my travels and to store my photos and memories. My hope is that my website will inspire others to explore the beauty of the universe and to appreciate the wonders of science.
